Back to our favourite, week in the sun before Christmas.

Back to our favourite, week in the sun before Christmas.

13 years since those words…my name is Alice. Blimey who would have thought what that started, and 10 years later a BB.

First of all remembrance Day, 100 years since end of ww1, so more significant than usual.
Mark and I off to Portland Arms to see The Blinders, latest future of rock and roll. Brilliant, political punk, angry young attitude. Be big I suspect this band.
Oops, says 9 on the cork, well that is because my good wife and myself agreed it was our 9th. No dear, it is our glorious 8th!
Decided last minute (after a few wines Friday night), to book in to Elveden Inn for Saturday night before heading for the planned visit to GY. Alice quite rightly is going a bit stir crazy and needs to get away
First off all Saturday post run, tap for Mabel. Then after munch drive to Elevedon for 2pm.
Arrived and weather was brilliant, end of Sep and we are sitting in the garden enjoying a beer and G+T watching Mabel have fun on the climbing frames.
Alice has rest, can’t do much with a cast, while Mabel and I go for word walk and shop.
Birthday party, Sunday before the day.
Only one day this year, Sunday 29th. Solo expedition as it was M’s birthday celebrations. Arrived at 12.00 to see first band, Charlie joined at 14.30.
Sun been shining for around 6 weeks, hottest summer for decades, but this weekend it breaks and down comes the rain so spoilt the atmosphere a tad.
So highlights….Gaz Coombes for sure and why I went on the Sunday; surprises Pip Blom a really young Dutch band with an amazing drummer, Queen Zee, bonkers “new punk”, Dream Wife.
