WALES TRIP

Visited Caitlin, Sion and Ava on weekend 16/17th. Had a lovely time as usual, arrived at Caitlin’s around 10.30 (early start!). Popped over to local garden centre for lunch, then back to hotel. Alice and Mabel had a swim, I forgot my swimming stuff. First time I have seen Mabel in a poll, she is doing amazingly well mostly thanks to Alice teaching her in the college pool.

GC AGAIN (and last for some time)

Back from a week in GC, same place, which owe have decided is getting a tad sad so we will be giving it a break. Ironing now that the staff actually recognise us now.

We could’d get a 2 bed and since Lola was coming with us we decided to push the boat out and book a suite, complete with hot-tub and sauna.

Good news that Alice ran for 3 days plus a Dune walk. Heart seems to be totally fixed, fantastico.

and relax…

I managed 1 day 4 lap, then ran first mile next day in 6.45, fastest in years though quickly followed by a calf muscle pull and end of my running for a while. Lesson somewhere there.

Weather wasn’t great, lots of cloud. Mabel had a cold, with cough which woke her up regularly through the night. Kept us awake worrying, but did at least we could catch up during the day. I caught the cold. So far not sounding great, but it was overall relaxing.

Lola seemed to spend most of the time on her phone, in her room, instagramming from various locations….her large bedroom, large bathroom, hot-tub, sauna (whilst off!)…modern teenagerdom? shame that they can’t just enjoy things without having the need to tell and show everybody.

Anyway we did have a moment….though brief

AUNTY JO’S 50TH BASH

Jo has entered the same decade as me, she informed me of that with some degree of disbelief…fair enough I guess!

Had an amazing party in their garden, marquee, waiters and waitresses, chefs and best of all Steve the Mixologist who set up his own cocktail bar in the marquee and knocked up some amazing mixes.

As you would expect Jo excelled at being the centre of attention (I mean that nicely), Jo does love a knees up and with all her family there too there was a lot of dancing.

We were last to leave in the very early hours.

6 MONTH’S THOUGHTS..

Well somehow we seem to have produced a model baby. She smiles, constantly and at everybody, she sleeps for 12 hours, she eats anything with no fuss, she only poos on the pot and only occasionally a wet nappy. How much nature, how much nurture? We have been relaxed for sure, which has surprised us both. Alice apparently never realised I had so much patience. She has had a lot of attention, me working from home, Gma and Jackie, Alice has long holidays, plus we are both there first thing in the morning. Ah,mornings; best time of the day. We are both morning people so 6.00 is fine, usually Mabel is awake but is happy to mull over life in her bed while I make tea and bottle and Alice has  a shower. Big smiles for us both as she is picked up out of bed, pot then bottle. We have around 45mins all in bed together at the start of the day; is that the magic formula?

Actually I think it is that 21st century curse, stress. We have done all we can to be aware of stress points and avoid them. This is easier with our experience, (called age), and the time we have available; time is always a cause of stress, well lack of time.

Maybe she is just made that way, hope so and hope it lasts forever.
