BIRCHANGER 10K

Annual 10K run, wanted under 50mins (made rule that I need to always run 10K under my age in minutes)…..time 48.54 so really pleased…and have 7 minutes in the bag.

Alice gave great support, though she was convinced she could have run faster than some of the runners even 21 weeks pregnant….had to hold her back at the start.

BANK HOLIDAY

Busy Bank Holiday

Villagers at Barbican. On train, had meal at Jane Doe restaurant, walked back to Barbican. Amazing venue, sound crystal clear. Fantastic evening.

BS Music Festival, just Saturday, with Mark and Jo. Great company as always. Lasted till 7.00 when it got too cold. Alice did well to last that long. I had beer to keep me warm.

Sunday, May Day Standon, Pims for Alice….rare taste of alcohol, enjoyed but causing dizziness. And that is from someone who can drink 5 litres of Estrella before lunch (well only once, and it was Ibiza after all)!

20 WEEK SCAN

Had 20 week scan today. all fingers, toes, spine, liver, heart, stomach, palette, nose….perfect.

Scan visibility is amazing, so clear. Asked not to be told sex so still don’t know for definite. However we all, including Lola who was present, didn’t see the obvious boy thingy so consensus is probably a girl, but who knows!

Discussed girls names on way back….Maya and Mabel favourite.

Still Jude for boy..

FIRST CONTACT MADE

Alice has been feeling kicks for a while now but I haven’t been able to feel this externally. Today I did for the first time…very exciting. Strong kick, does this mean football or rugby? tough questions already…

Update….

it has been some time since I last added a post…so quick catch up:

Parents told, all happy. M is surprisingly excited and volunteered to help whenever…Mr Beckley response as expected..”well I’ll be blowed”…

Reuben told, all good though initially confused (read as WTF)

Tilly told, very excited

Conor and Caitlin; we visited, stayed in Caitlin’s hotel. Told them all, including Sion and Tor, over meal. All delighted. See photos in next post.

Holiday in Gran Canaria

We have told Lola and Jacob on Sunday. Lola was surprisingly upbeat and excited. Jacob taken aback, not good with change but he will carry on with his path whatever. We have had some trepidation about telling everybody as it will be quite a surprise but this has gone better than we imagined.
