MUM TO CARE HOME
This has been a long while coming but Mum has decided that she wants to go into care. She has been in to hospital twice over the last two weeks via ambulance. Breathing problems, and had a pacemaker fitted. But says now she is scared and feeling lonely.
Tony has managed to find a room in a Caister care home. Joan. Sue’s mum is there so we know it’s good and this helps with Mum’s decision. When discussing it she sounds surprisingly positive, hope it stays that way.
She’s due to move in on Monday 8th.

Now 4 March. Mum has not done well in the home. Seems to have given up in some way. Realise having everything done for you is not necessarily a good thing.
Even though she couldn’t do much when she was living at home there was some purpose, control and sub-consciously “normal”
It was the right decision though as physically she was deteriorating with constant ambulance calls.
For the last few weeks she has been hallucinating and disoriented. There has been fewer and fewer periods of clarity.
Saturday night she was found on the floor and taken to hospital. Nothing broken but they have kept her in for observation.
