Brother George has returned from New Zealand via a long route through Asia. Grown a face thatch to be proud of, just wondering what he has smuggled back in there!

These last few entries are out of chronological order because I am catching up on a very busy week or two.

Lola and Tilly have now finished school, all GCSE’s taken and no more uniform. Another significant milestone.

Conor has been in hospital since last Thursday (6 days) with glandular fever, jaundice and tonsillitis. Been very ill so we have had to cancel his trip to Ibiza next week. Drove up on Sunday to tell him face to face, good  man, he took it well though I suspect he wasn’t surprised.

We will re-arrange for him to go wth a friend later in the year.

just as we were really getting excited about Euro 2016 England go and lose to Iceland with the most abysmal performance by an England team I have seen. Alice was right that she could have passed better than Rooney, or used the classic tactic of Ball, Goal, Score!

An Englishman, Irishman and Scotsman walk in to a bar…..to watch Wales in the quarter-finals. Not sure if I really find that very funny actually…

Somehow the UK has voted to come out of the EU, well by more people voting Leave rather then Remain is the fact.

This is shocking and will result in chaos. Longer term, for all our children I am fearful of what it means.

Outside work all done, just need tiles laid inside. Really pleased.

 

 

Euro’s started. Tournament T-shirt bought. Team sweep complete. Ready to go…and watching from new decking with barbecue and telly in the new conservatory. Sun shining, doesn’t really get better…well if only England could score more goals!

The Boss at Wembley, last seen in Sheffield in 1988. Atmosphere was magical, all love Bruce. Of course average age was over 50, lots of bad taste t-shirts and proper queues at the bar.

I forgot to get tickets early on the day of release so ended up in the 5th tier right at the back, but thought never mind the screen will be large and sound loud and clear. Well I was right in the first and very wrong on the second, sound was pretty awful. Couldn’t make out much of the sings, and I am a big fan. However wouldn’t have missed the experience for anything; he played Cindy’s Room and Thunder Road to finish on acoustic guitar, alone on stage. Won’t see him live again so perfect way to finish for me.

That is it for Stadium shows, Bowie and Prince are gone, only left Bruce and that is done. Back to the small intimate and unknown mostly (that means exciting and risky).

Though next up is Ben Folds so not so unknown…or risky come to that!
