DAY ONE

After being discharged from the maternity section we then got transferred to CCU (Cardia Care Unit) where we spent the night while Alice was assessed. Our first night a  family together.

Took sometime to escape, but eventually all signed off and drugs delivered we finally got free around 4pm. Glad to be home.

SLOW PROGRESS AND THEN CUT

Mabel was born yesterday September 4th 2015 at 05.20. No entry for that day as we were obviously detained.

And here she is……

after two lots of inductive pessaries and very painful attempts to break the water, of which there was very little, and mothers heartbeat getting irregular a rather grumpy doctor obviously decided enough was enough and ceasarian was the only way forward. So after 43 hours of variations on inducements it was all over in 1/2hr once the decision was made. She came out perfectly formed…though a little small at 5lb 10oz.

Ready for the op…I’m looking a bit nervous as I haven’t done this before (though I do have copy of Caesarians for Idiots so that will help)

THE DAY….NOT THE DAY!

Well we were called in at 10.00 with great expectation. Shown to a large private room, but due to indecision, late application of pessary, lack of effect and then rush of other patients they have decided to hold off on further inducements until tomorrow. I am home (it’s 10.30 pm) and Alice is still at the hospital. Waiting on call or off back early tomorrow. At least it give Sid another day of cooking….a positive spin!
